New generation of VW Caddy

The fifth-generation Volkswagen Caddy, a compact commercial is available with diesel, gasoline or compressed natural gas (TGI) engine. In the range diesel, mechanical TDI family with powers between 75, 102 and 122 hp, and gasoline, TSI block of 116 hp, which is also the engine of TGI version

The long version – Caddy Maxi – has space to carry up to two Europallets, which can optionally be loaded centrally in the transverse/rear direction or in the transverse/longer direction. The Caddy Cargo offers 3.1 m3 of loading space (SAE V6 standard), being 3.7 m3 in the long version. The maximum width is 1230 mm and the width of the sliding doors is now 840 mm (previously 701 mm). The maximum length of the load space is 1797 mm and 2150 mm (Maxi load).

Characteristics

The passenger and Kombi versions are offered as standard with five seats and, optionally, as in the previous model, a third row can be contemplated, quickly transforming the Caddy into a seven-seater vehicle. A new feature is that the third row seats can be removed individually, thus offering maximum flexibility. The Combi and MPV family offer luggage space up to 2556 liters; and with five people on board the volume is 1213 liters, loaded to the height of the back of the seats.

The length of the loadspace of the Combi and MPV is 1913 mm up to the first row of seats, and the maximum width is 1185 mm. The new Caddy has commercial, cargo (panel van) and passenger (MPV) variants. In this, the lines of equipment are called Caddy, Life and Style.

The Caddy Cargo can have fully metal rear doors, without windows (for better protection against theft). Standard equipment in this variant are the front electric windows, electric door mirrors, electronic handbrake with Auto Hold function, new H7 headlights and LED license plate illumination. Also new in the range are optional armrests on seats.

The base level of the Cargo and MPV variants includes other standard features such as a multi-function steering wheel, two side sliding doors, a radio system with 6.5 inch screen, air conditioning and fatigue detection system. Added to the Life line are the 16″ alloy wheels, an infotainment system with 8.25″ screen, folding table for the second row of seats, roof bars (black), body-colored bumpers, electrically adjustable and heated retractable exterior mirrors, center console with central armrest and driver’s seat lumbar support adjustment.

Customers who choose the Style line have the Caddy equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels (the 18-inch wheels are offered as an option), LED headlights and rear lights, ParkPilot parking aid (front and rear), silver roof bars, and chrome exterior package. Inside, a multi-function leather steering wheel, automatic air conditioning, App-Connect, ArtVelours seat coverings, and, for the first time, digital instruments (Digital Cockpit) are offered as standard.
